Tantric Rock, Existential Protest Gospel, Post-Punk Jazz-Folk
For too long have the Simbionese labored in alienation, with consumer needs manufactured to supplant to joyful wisdom of the body that creates. We hear the cries of longing in the laughter of happy slaves, longing for a new way that lingers just beyond the opium screens….
Join us as we envision new mystery traditions and cast lyrical spells dedicated to your self-actualization, praise for emancipation from the programs of society that no longer serve us.
Once folk and punk and their kin challenged the conventional wisdom, finding it to be rather unwise. But the market penetrates, and so much has been commoditized now.
What is needed is protest music that moves beyond the easy targets. Music that cuts to the core of who we are, and challenges us to be more. Songs about claiming true freedom and responsibility, rather than that illusion of freedom spoon-fed to us by shared media and unexamined rituals. Songs of emancipation once railed against the assembly line; what should their target be now that we are the assembled? The answer must move beyond Nihilism. New values, multiplex perspectives, and experiments in living are needed. Existentialist folk-rock aspires to be the soundtrack of these new awakenings.
The Serpent Drops have arrived to sing of self-overcoming, of love most biological, of destinies that are not given but must be earned.
Another fine product from the Darwathustra Experiment…
